My daughter dyed her hair blue. It was a bit shocking at first, then I got used to it. 

A glimpse of another world

Purple flowers always draw my attention. It wasn't until I looked more closely that I saw something else in this photo:

A glimpse of an alien landscape reflected in the gazing ball, and an alien looking back at me. 

Daisy chains

Spring is my favorite time to take walks. I find so many gorgeous little plants around the neighborhood. These little daisy style flowers belong to a neighbor.

Purple waves

I can't resist purple flowers. Fortunately the neighborhood is full of them this spring.

Dandy!

Most people think  of dandelions as nothing but weeds, but once in a while they show up looking like nothing but pretty yellow flowers.

And once in a while they make a good subject for an abstract painting. 

Salad!

The garden is in full swing. Here's some salad - before it's picked. 

Lettuce, kale and spinach. 

Persian Shield

A trip to the garden store yielded my own Persian Shield. I've loved these plants since I first saw a photo of one. The colors are amazing. Hopefully mine will grow on the back deck.

Fairy garden

I'm always happiest visiting my fairy garden. This one has been revised from last year with some new elements and old sedums.

With a little manipulation, you can see the fairies just leaving home for a day of tending the nearby flora and fauna.

Minions unite!

A couple of minions have started an indoor garden for me with a little polka dot plant. I wonder what nefarious schemes they have in mind. 

Palm wonderful

Leaves of my palm plant make an excellent subject cast in lavender.

Egg obsession

Those fresh eggs we got from a friend have provided me endless photo ops. I'm somewhat obsessed with how beautiful they are. This one is speckled - who needs Easter dye?

A little manipulation and it becomes a metallic dragon egg.

Zen gardening

A handful of stones spilled on the back steps and washed with the hose looked like a gorgeous subject for a painting.

Potted

The upside of spending two hours waiting in a doctor's office is they had very nice decor so I snapped some photos. I especially like the clean lines of this pot of succulents. 

Golden Eye?

What was the name of that James Bond film? Maybe this gilded guy knows. Found him at the craft store. He's not 14k but still a little rich for my blood.
